On Break, Students Become World Travelers
During Mercersburg’s spring break, 27 students and six faculty members are traveling to three continents on four separate school-sponsored trips designed to increase global awareness and service opportunities. Mercersburg groups are visiting China, France, India, and the Mississippi Gulf Coast.
Four In a Row: Marshall Wins 2010 Competition
Emily Bays '10 took top honors at Declamation to lead Marshall to victory in the annual Irving-Marshall competition for the fourth consecutive year. Marshall earned a total of 1075 points to Irving's 875 in the week-long clash. At Declamation March 4, Irving's Paul Suhey '10 and Lorraine Simonis '10 were awarded second place and third place, respectively, and Irving's team was named by the judges as the top Declamation squad.
Boys' Swimming Wins Easterns; Girls' Team Finishes Fifth
Mercersburg's boys' swim team captured first place in the 2010 Eastern Intercollegiate Swimming Championships, the biggest prep school aquatic event in the nation and one of the most competitive high school swimming and diving meets in the country. The team title is the Storm's first Easterns championship since 2002, and the fifth in head coach Pete Williams' tenure at the school.
