Catching Olympic Fever in Person
Former Mercersburg swimming teammates and team captains Bill Jarrett ’91 and Melvin Stewart ’88 enjoyed the 2008 Summer Olympic Games in Beijing, where they watched American sensation Michael Phelps and his assault on the Olympic record book. Phelps, of course, captured a record eight gold medals at the Games.

Culture Shock: Wintertime in August

Highlights from a European "Vacation"

Four New Administrative Faculty Appointed
Mercersburg Academy is pleased to announce the appointment of Thomas W. Adams as assistant head of school for enrollment.

Adams began his tenure July 1. He succeeds Christopher Tompkins, who after eight years at Mercersburg accepted the position of headmaster at Perkiomen School in Pennsburg, Pennsylvania.

Students Earn All-MAPL Honors
James Finucane ’08, who broke school records at the 1600-meter and 3200-meter distances this spring, is the [Hagerstown] Herald-Mail’s choice as its 2008 Boys Track & Field Athlete of the Year.

Finucane was also honored last fall as the Herald-Mail’s Cross Country Runner of the Year. He will compete in both sports at the University of Pennsylvania.
